Unforgettable Wedding Magic: Bringing Wonder to Inventors Brewpub in Port Washington
There’s nothing quite like bringing close-up magic to a wedding. Last weekend, I had the pleasure of performing strolling magic for an incredible couple and their guests at Inventors Brewpub in Port Washington, Wisconsin—a gorgeous waterfront venue just north of Milwaukee.
If you’ve never been, Inventors Brewpub is a fantastic space for a Wisconsin wedding reception. The multi-level setup worked brilliantly: the ceremony took place on the lower level, and as guests transitioned upstairs for cocktail hour, I was there to greet them with interactive entertainment. With folks flying in from all across the country—and an amazingly friendly venue staff keeping everything running smoothly—the energy in the room was electric right from the start.
Connecting Guests & Bringing People Together
Having a professional wedding magician at a formal event might sound unique at first, but cocktail hour is the ideal window for close-up entertainment. A wedding naturally brings together different social circles—family traveling from out of state, college buddies, and local Milwaukee friends who might be meeting for the very first time. Magic acts as the ultimate icebreaker.
When I perform strolling close-up magic, I gently approach a group and wait for a respectful moment to enter the conversation without interrupting the flow. From there, I invite nearby guests to step over and join in. In an instant, you have people who were strangers moments ago sharing a beautiful, impromptu experience—gasping, laughing, and bonding over a mind-bending moment together.
Adaptability & Spontaneous Wonder
Throughout the hour, I move seamlessly throughout the room performing mind reading, sleight-of-hand card tricks, and modern illusions using everyday items like smartphones, markers, and dry-erase boards.
Part of the charm of live, close-up performance is reacting to spontaneous moments. At one point during the evening, a guest pulled his own deck of cards out of his pocket and asked if I could use them instead. Without missing a beat, I took his deck and delivered the exact same sense of wonder. Whether it’s an impromptu request or a custom moment, my style is always warm, funny, and approachable, keeping everyone engaged and ready to celebrate.

While guests enjoy the strolling magic, the bride and groom receive something extra special: a custom illusion created specifically for them during the performance that they take home as a permanent keepsake from their wedding day.
